Godzilla Raids Again was Toho's 2nd film featuring the Kaiju menace along with the introduction of Anguirus. When it appeared state side Warner Brothers theatrically released a heavily edited version under the title Gigantis the Fire Monster. Did they do this because they didn't have the rights to the "Godzilla" name? Nope. The producer of the American version
changed the name to "Gigantis" to give the audience the impression that they were seeing a new monster. Not exactly a smart idea considering that Godzilla was a box office smash.
